Mrs. Michelle Moore
Fourth Grade
BA Arcadia University
Mrs. Moore has been teaching since 2003. In 2005 she left the public school system, and felt that her calling became Catholic education. During her time in Catholic education she has had the opportunity to teach both grades four and five, and has loved every minute of each of those grades. She grew up in a family with the unique experience of moving around the country, due to her father’s job with General Electric; by 1994, she lived in six different states. She truly feels that this childhood experience helped her to become the person she is today. Mrs. Moore earned her Bachelor of the Sciences in Elementary Education through Arcadia University in 2003.
Mrs. Moore has been married since the fall of 2003 to her husband, Bryan. With both her and her husband being educators, Mrs. Moore feels she receives tremendous support at home in her vision for educating her students . Mrs. Moore and her husband have a daughter, Abigail. The Moores were blessed to extend their family through open adoption in 2014. Abigail has been the light of their lives from the day she was born. She is very excited to share her love of OLM with Abby, and have her experience all OLM has to offer each and every day.
Mrs. Moore is an avid camper. Over the past 19+ years, some of her favorite memories have come from her time camping near Lake Placid, NY for two weeks each summer. The family loves to travel around the country with their RV during the summer months and weekends throughout the fall and spring. Horses and riding is a favorite passion of Mrs. Moore’s. She is often found at her barn taking lessons, helping to take care of and spoil the horses, and sharing this passion with Abby.
Mrs. Moore feels being a part of the Our Lady of Mercy family has allowed her vision of education to become a reality for those students who she has worked with over the years. Due to this tremendous support by the OLM administration, she brought Flexible Seating into her room in the Spring of 2017, and piloted it as a program for the remainder of the year. She feels her vocation towards the students of OLM has not only allowed her to broaden their knowledge and love of learning, but more importantly allowed her to share her faith with her students, helping to foster compassionate individuals who look to put others before themselves. Mrs. Moore’s passion for continuing to grow and develop in her profession, led her to become a trained facilitator in 21 Keys for High Performance Teaching and Learning. She has been excited to work with teachers throughout the Archdiocese to enhance their teaching through self-growth.
