Dr. Ray Garcia

Dr. Ramon Garcia grew up in Roslyn Pennsylvania, where he attended St. John of the Cross Grade School and subsequently attended LaSalle Colle High School.  Dr. Garcia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from LaSalle University.  He went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University, both in Philadelphia. While still at Jefferson, Dr. Garcia began teaching various classes in the Biology Department of LaSalle University. He left in 2015 with the title of Assistant Professor. He is currently a member of the Department of Biology at Eastern University in St. David’s Pennsylvania.

After graduating from Jefferson, Dr. Garcia performed postdoctoral research in DNA isolation and preservation technologies in a small life sciences company. In 2003, he and a few partners founded Azco Biosciences and manufactured DNA bases for chemical synthesis of DNA and RNA. Following the sale of that entity, Dr. Garcia founded Dynacell Life Sciences, an organization dedicated to the use of excess cord blood for research purposes.

When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. Dr. Garcia also enjoys spending time reading, cooking, viticulture, prewar automobiles and postwar classic R&B vocal group harmony (mostly on 78rpm discs).
